JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Department of Transportation is restricting trailer traffic over Teton Pass in northwest Wyoming during certain times of each day because of a mudslide between Alpine and Jackson.
U.S. 26-89 about 25 miles south of Jackson has been closed by a massive mudslide that occurred over the weekend in the Snake River Canyon.
Motorists traveling between Jackson and Alpine must take a detour through Idaho and over Teton Pass that adds about an hour of drive time.
To help commuters in and out of Jackson, Teton Pass will be closed to all trailer traffic 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. while the canyon is closed. The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports this includes vehicles pulling campers, boats and other trailers.
